Commitment

Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality
It is the words that speak boldly of your intentions,
And the actions which speak louder than the words.
It is making the time when there is none.
Coming through time after time
Year after year after year.
Commitment is the stuff character is made of.
The power to change the face of things.
It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism.

Workers' Day, literally...

Freedom Day (April 27) and Workers' Day (May 1) will be the last two national holidays I celebrate with South Africans before I departure in June.

"Freedom Day commemorates the first democratic elections held in South Africa and Workers' Day celebrates the role played by trade unions, the Communist Party and other labour movements in the struggles against apartheid" - South African Government Information

Unfortunately, Brit and Sarah have left me here in the flat alone. Brit pack out Saturday and Sarah left this morning. It was a wonderful last weekend for all of the girls and I am sure they will make it home safe and sound.

Today is going to be a work day. My agenda:
  • Submit Teachers Work Sample
  • Restructure unit and lesson plans for additional grade 9 classes
  • Organize PLASMA for Mrs. Buczynski
  • Email advisor at Columbia
  • Verify graduation date and time
  • Clean up websites
Blogging is obviously not my forte at the moment. Yet with time, I will strengthen my blogging skills and become a professional!
